Hank grew up in Wetumpka, Alabama.  He, his wife Karen, and son Matthew moved to Phenix City in 1991.  Hank has been a member of Lakewood Baptist since 1993.  He has served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Director, and Chairman of Deacons.

Hank gave his life to Christ and was baptized at age 12 at First Baptist Church of Wetumpka.

Hank was the Valedictorian at Wetumpka High School.  He graduated from Auburn University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.  He helped manage Austin Apparel, a family business that made T-shirts and sweatshirts until 1997.  At one time he managed over 150 employees.  He then went to work as a Financial Consultant for Smith Barney in Columbus, Georgia.  In June of 2005, Hank acknowledged that he was being called into the ministry.  The following summer Hank resigned from Smith Barney to accept a bi- vocational pastor’s position at United Baptist Church, and a position teaching 7th grade mathematics at the Phenix City Intermediate School.  In March of 2007, he accepted the position at Lakewood as Director of the Child Development Center and Administrator at Veritas Academy.

Hank has been married to Karen for 23 years and they have two children; Matthew, a Graduate of Central High School, and Lauren, a sixth grader here at Veritas.  Hank enjoys camping, playing basketball, tennis, and running (he has completed three marathons).
