She was born in Natchez, Mississippi. Her father was a Baptist minister. At the age of twelve, Mrs. Fletcher says she began having serious doubts about her salvation. Her parents told her she had prayed to receive Christ in their presence at the age of eight and was baptized. She says she remembers nothing about it. So, in late 1957 she settled the matter with Jesus. She graduated from Natchez-Adams County High School in 1962. In the Fall of that year she entered Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. She graduated in May of 1967 with a Bachelors degree in music education and a minor in English.

From 1967 until 1983 Mrs. Fletcher taught in Christian day schools. In June of 1983 she and her husband, Chuck Fletcher, entered full-time evangelism. In 1990 they came out of evangelism to help take care of Mr. Fletcher's then-recently widowed mother. He took a fulltime church staff position and she resumed her teaching career. In 1996 Mr. Fletcher felt the Lord wanted them to return to evangelism. They were in that field until May of 2006. In the fall of that year she again resumed her teaching ministry.

Her teaching experiences include classroom and private music, Junior and Senior high English, history, Bible, Language Arts in the Middle School, 2nd Grade, Kindergarten, 4th Grade, 4th/5th Grades combined, and several summers of private phonics/reading tutoring.
